The Network+ exam is a maximum of 90 questions. It includes multiple-choice and performance-based/drag-and-drop style questions, and you have 90 minutes.
You need a passing score of 720 on a scale of 100–900.
CompTIA lists the Network+ exam cost as $369 USD in its exam details (blog). Pricing can vary by region and discounts may be available.
Network+ N10-009 domains and weights are: Networking Fundamentals (23%), Network Implementation (20%), Network Operations (19%), Network Security (14%), and Network Troubleshooting (24%).
There are no mandatory prerequisites. CompTIA commonly recommends A+ (or equivalent knowledge) and around 9+ months of hands-on networking experience before attempting Network+.
CompTIA commonly recommends Network+ before Security+ because Security+ builds on networking fundamentals (protocols, ports, architecture, troubleshooting). It’s not a strict prerequisite, but it tends to make Security+ significantly easier.
Network+ is in CompTIA’s CE program (three-year renewal cycle). CompTIA lists CE fees totaling $150 over the three-year period for Network+. If you hold multiple CompTIA certs, you generally only pay CE fees for your highest-level cert and lower-level certs renew with it.
Network+ is commonly viewed as entry-to-intermediate. Many candidates find troubleshooting scenarios and PBQs among the most challenging parts.
Your $390–$395 (approx.) exam fee deserves the best preparation.
